He is airborne, President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic spiritual exercise.
The Nigerian leader left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Thursday afternoon for the holy city in Saudi Arabia.
JESNews correspondent reports that Umrah is an Islamic spiritual exercise that involves pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah, prayers, supplications and spiritual renewal.
According to the special adviser on media to the President, Bayo Onanuga, the trip will serve as a spiritual reflection and prayers for the nation.
He said President Tinubu is expected to pray for the peace, unity and progress during the exercise and return to the country after the completion of the Umrah rites.
