Barcelona have kept their perfect beginning to the new La Liga campaign with a 5-0 thrashing of bottom-placed Valencia.
Hansi Flick’s team scored the opener after just five minutes when Lamine Yamal ran in behind the Valencia defence and netted a perfectly delivered through ball from Fermin Lopez.
Lopez increased the lead for the reigning champions when he struck in Anthony Gordon’s lay-off into the bottom left corner of goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski’s goal. It was the fourth goal for Lopez and Gordon’s fourth assist in as many games es this season.
Barcelona started the second half as ferociously as the first half when Raphinha tapped in his sixth goal of the season.
Lopez, unarguably the best player of Barcelona on the afternoon, sprinted the length of the attacking half to set up the former Leeds winger for his 50th goal in La Liga.
Midfielder Pedri partnered with Dani Olmo for a one-two and neatly converted to score the fourth for Barca, before Olmo meandered between Valencia midfielders to slip Lamine Yamal through for his fourth goal of the season.
