As the race to the 2027 presidential elections heats up, President Bola Tinubu has fired a broadside at Peter Obi, one of his main contenders in next year’s elections.
President Tinubu is seeking reelection under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Obi is plotting to stop him through the platform of the
Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking during his visit to Akwa Ibom State, on Friday, Tinubu said Obi failed to solve the problem of erosion when he was Anambra State Governor.
Referencing his efforts to reclaim the Ocean at Eko Atlantic City when he was governor of Lagos State, Tinubu said unlike Obi who could not withstand erosion, he successfully confronted the Atlantic Ocean.
“There is one who says he is in a party they call NDC, who is running for president. He ran away from erosion in Anambra state.”
“He could not confront erosion. I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, confronted the Atlantic Ocean. I tamed it.”
Meanwhile, at the inauguration of Arise Palm Resort in Uyo, Tinubu commended Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom while taking a swipe at Obi.
“Here we are on a resort reclaimed from erosion. And we are going to enjoy life here. You want to compare the brain of this man to that of Obi who ran away from erosion in Anambra. And he now wants to be president? President of where?”
