Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke, has said President Bola Tinubu needs another four years for his economic reforms to produce the desired results, appealing to Nigerians to vote for him in 2027.
Adeleke disclosed this on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he declared support for second-term bid of Tinubu
He expressed confidence that the president would return to Aso Rock after the 2027 election, saying another term would allow the president to consolidate his reform agenda.
“We must give our father, the president of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough,” Adeleke said.
“That is why I’m here to throw my weight.”
He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s electoral prospects, urging supporters to mobilise for his re-election in 2027.
Adeleke said the success of Tinubu’s administration would benefit the country.
“Nobody can stop this movement. We’re going to sing; we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock,” he said.
“We don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine. Let us rise and make sure our president comes back for the second time.
“Continue praying for Mr President. If he succeeds, we all succeed. And I know by the special grace of God, we shall get there.”
The revised campaign council list of the APC released on Tuesday named Adeleke as Tinubu’s campaign coordinator in Osun state, despite being a member of the Accord.
The list also had Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, and named Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as campaign coordinator for Rivers state and the FCT.
