Manager Jurgen Klopp’s wait for his maiden victory with Germany dragged on as his team were shocked 1-0 at home by Greece in the UEFA Nations League.

Germany were stunned in Augsburg by
a 74th-minute goal by Dimitrios Kourbelis after the midfielder’s shot from the edge of the box deflected in off defender Joshua Kimmich.
Despite dominating, the hosts – who had a much-changed team and brought on Florian Wirtz from the bench , were unable to score a goal.
Greece are ranked 41st in the world and had never won against Germany across their 10 past encounters before Sunday evening fixture.

They are now winless in four matches since beating Ivory Coast in their second group game at this summer’s World Cup.
The result meant Greece got back to the top of Nations League Group 2, having defeated Serbia on Thursday and well primed to progress to the quarter-finals.
By defeating Germany, ranked 12th in the world, Greece earned their biggest victory by world rankings since they defeated England at Wembley in 2024 when the Three Lions were ranked fourth.
